Evidence from the Field
The BehavesWell Framework is tested against real intelligent environments across three spoke sites. Each site generates structured evidence records — validated, refined, challenged, or emerged — mapped to the twelve core principles.
Evidence Classification
Every evidence record is assigned one of four classifications based on its relationship to the principle under examination.
The principle held as specified. The environment behaved in accordance with the governance requirement without modification.
The principle held but required a narrower or broader scope definition. The core intent was preserved; the boundary conditions were updated.
The principle could not be fully applied in this environment. The evidence record documents the constraint and the conditions that produced it.
The environment produced a governance requirement not anticipated by the current principle set. The record is held for consideration in the next version cycle.
Spoke Sites
Three spoke environments provide the evidence base for the framework. Each represents a distinct class of intelligent environment with different occupant relationships, infrastructure constraints, and governance pressures.
Residential
Single-occupancy and multi-occupancy residential environments. Primary governance focus: occupant consent, ambient awareness, and reversibility of system behaviour.
Shared
Co-working spaces, communal residential buildings, and mixed-use environments. Primary governance focus: multi-stakeholder consent, competing occupant needs, and system transparency.
Commercial
Office buildings, retail environments, and commercial facilities. Primary governance focus: operator accountability, proportional response, and reversibility in legacy infrastructure.
